Participation & Reflection
This project is absolutely a fun project. Our group has put a lot of effort into building the scene and filming the video since we had to emulate a lot of stakeholders to make the demo look appealing. We worked well together and we are satisfied with our final product.
With all the experience and familiarization in the past projects, we all go through the need-finding and ideations quickly. I am responsible for needed findings and constructing POVs which I haven't taken the lead responsibility in the last 2 projects. It requires me to conduct semi-structured interviews with various people and sum up their needs from different perspectives.
I have also been involved in CarVR Expo environment prototyping in which we need to build a virtual job fair. It combines various VR features with recruitment events to provide a hassle-less and immersive job hunting experience to job seekers. We have to create some virtual booths and materials for the fair. It shows really well in the demo video, and appreciate the good production from our groupmates! The act is fun and it shows the whole picture of the entire work. Hopefully, this could inspire people to work more on VR and consider its possibilities to bring a smarter life to us
Summing up the entire course, I have learned deeper about tech production from a design perspective. The journey is fruitful. From need-findings to prototyping, we've earned so much hands-on experience. Building these works from scratch with my fellow groupmates is motivating and satisfying. Most of us are going to graduate from HKUST soon, and we are hoping to utilise these in our future works.
